Scope: The Aerospace industry suffers with the lack of a common terminology and methodology regarding the handling of maintenance reports and data exchange procedures between manufactures, suppliers and airlines. This document discusses the terminology aspects of maintenance and reliability data exchange for any systems installed on aircraft, taking into account the overall aircraft operating environment and functions. This document also addresses some methodology and recommended practices to keep focus on costs containment through some reliability programs such as No Fault Found (NFF) reduction, rogue components elimination and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) review for systems or components present reliability issues.
